
About Me
Hi, I'm Tracey, Registered Forensic Psychologist and Clinical Director of Women in Bloom Psychology. I understand and have first-hand experience of the unique challenges that we, as women, can face. My passion for working in women's mental health began early in my career and this ultimately led to the conception of Women in Bloom Psychology. With over 15 years' experience of working in both the NHS and private mental healthcare, I have had the privilege of working with many women diagnosed with complex mental health issues. As a result, I have been fortunate enough to be part of their journeys to recovery and to see them flourish.

I believe the foundation of any successful psychological treatment is the development of a strong collaborative therapeutic relationship. One in which you, the client, can trust and feel safe to explore the challenges that bring you to therapy. With this in mind, I aim to walk alongside you. I offer a warm, genuine, and compassionate style that empowers, planting the seeds for such a relationship to blossom.

I understand it can feel daunting to consider asking for help when you are struggling. Making time for yourself might feel impossible when you're juggling so many other things. As women, the mental load can be overwhelming, and we are often the last person on our own list. I'm here to remind you that you are a priority, so let's take that first step together.

Registered Forensic Psychologist
I am a Registered Forensic Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC, PYL043757) and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS, 153896).

Therapeutic Approaches
Having trained and gained extensive experience in using a range of therapeutic approaches, I offer choice in how you want us to work together. This means I can draw upon my knowledge and skills and be responsive to each individual's treatment needs. The descriptions below provide a flavour of the therapeutic approaches I use.

Compassion Focused Therapy
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) aims to help those who struggle with shame and self-criticism often resulting from early experiences of neglect and abuse. It emphasises the importance of compassion and self-compassion in your interactions with yourself and others. CFT also encourages you to work with experiences of inner warmth, safeness, and soothing. It can be helpful with many different presentations including anxiety, depression, trauma, and psychosis.
I am experienced in using CFT and I have completed Foundational and Advanced training in CFT as well as specific CFT trainings related to trauma and postnatal depression.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a cognitive behavioural approach that aims to reduce harmful behaviours by teaching individuals how to: live in the moment; develop healthy ways to regulate and cope with their emotions; and develop skills to improve their relationships with others. DBT can be helpful with many different presentations including borderline personality disorder, substance misuse, eating disorders, and PTSD.

I have completed DBT Intensive training and further training in the DBT Prolonged Exposure Protocol for PTSD. I am experienced in delivering the full programme of DBT as well as tailoring DBT skills to meet individual needs.


Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) aims to help you understand how your thoughts (including beliefs and attitudes) affect both your feelings and behaviours. It teaches you how to change your thinking enabling you to problem solve, initiate behaviour change, and ultimately to make yourself feel better. CBT is a commonly used therapeutic approach and it often forms the basis of the other treatments I use. It can be helpful with many different presentations including depression, anxiety, psychosis, OCD, substance misuse, and anger.

I am trained in CBT, and I have significant experience of using this approach with a range of presentations.
